Bear Fruit?

"You’ll recognize them by their fruit. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes or figs from thistles? In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit, but a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit; neither can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. " Matthew 7:16-20.

The fruit we bear is important. Good fruit is the signature of a good tree and bad fruit is the consequence of a bad tree. It would not be logical for any arborist to keep a tree that produces bad fruit. So it makes sense that the bad trees would be thrown away. So obviously we should want our life to be marked by good fruit.

But how is it possible to bear good fruit? Jesus answers that in John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me.” Only in Christ can someone truly bear good fruit. Not in just living life, and not by trying to be good, but only by abiding in Christ.

So for us living today, this is a call for us to first abide in Christ, and then to bear fruit out of that relationship. Fruit like the Apostle Paul outlines as Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-control.

This website is dedicated to that exact same goal, for people to be in a true relationship with Christ that bears much good fruit. And hopefully the articles you find help on your walk towards sanctification. If you have any questions ask them below.
